Critical Issues in Literature

Welcome to the Critical Issues in Literature website for the 2008-2010 school years! Critical Issues is an eleventh and twelfth grade class taught at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington, NJ. This class examines topics of identity and society through poetry, fiction, non-fiction, personal memoir writing, and research. During the Individual vs. Society unit, students are asked to answer the essential question: How do we balance the needs of the individual with the goals of the society? Students are asked to research a social issue which affects their daily life and provide background and possible solutions to the problem.

This website is a portal to the research projects created by Ms. Donhauser, Mrs. Vrancken, and Mrs. Willsey's classes. Seventy-five students have created individual webpages which present not only their research but also their personal responses to a social issue which they consider to be important. Please check out the navigation bar to the left; this will allow you to access the assignment, resources, and also the information which the students have gathered to complete their wiki. If you have any questions about anything you see on this website, please contact Ms. Donhauser
